Tunbridge Wells High School is looking for a vibrant and motivational Mathematics Teacher, if you are not yet AST status, please still apply, we are committed to progressing your teaching careers and will work with you for 6 months to achieve AST!

This role will make a significant impact in developing the quality of education in Mathematics, as well as the whole school impact.
Working with the Head of Department and colleagues, you will:
- Be proactive in the on-going development of the department and take a positive approach to raising standards, student achievement and development of the learning environment - To maximise students' participation in the subject and assist with the provision of extra curricular activities in maths - To participate in the creation of schemes of work - To attend and contribute to department meetings - Use ICT effectively, both through teaching the curriculum and to support the professional role - Ensuring up to date knowledge in area of specialism - Have a full understanding of connections and progressions (subject) - Quickly understand pupils' perceptions and misconceptions from questions and responses. Support GAP Analysis and remediation - Model the most effective teaching methods to achieve the teaching objective - Display creative skills to engage, enthuse and challenge pupils and to use questioning and explanation effectively to secure maximum progress - Support colleagues in their use of assessment as part of their teaching in order to diagnose pupils' needs and set realistic and challenging targets for improvement - Help others to evaluate their own practice in relation to pupils' progress, school targets and inspection evidence - Produce high quality teaching materials - Lead staff meetings on given initiatives - Contribute to the in school professional development programme
