Are you eligible to be a foster carer?

You don’t need any formal qualifications to become a Fostering Partnership carer, although some understanding of child development and working with young people, either your own or others, is preferred. Patience, the ability to work with a team, humour and dedication are key.

If you can dedicate yourself to caring for a child, live within travelling distance of Blackburn with Darwen, and you have a spare bedroom, you could become a foster carer with The Fostering Partnership.

• you don’t need previous foster experience or qualifications
• training will be provided
• you will be paid an allowance of £500 a week
• 14 days paid holiday and respite
• daily contact with your support team
• you will only care for one child at any one time
• you will care for a child for 6 to 18 months
• you will be homeowner
• you will be at home full time, you can be married, living as a couple or single
• your sexuality is not an issue
• you must live close to Blackburn with Darwen
